The three images above are all Urticina sea anemones.  Most Urticinas in Puget Sound waters are maroon, gold, or pink with maroon.
Yellow and true red specimens are best found in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. My preferred spot is Fresh Water Bay just west of Port
Angeles. It is a very very long swim that most people would be insane to do. There is a boat ramp right there but it is a very gradual
slope that is not usable at low tide. If you plan on using a boat here beware! Check your tide log for launching and retrieval because
there is not another alternative and it is a long wait for the tide to come in. Kayak diving this site works but by the time you launch, tie
the boats on shore and dive you might as well swim it (if you have the stamina). There is a good little current on the outside of the rock
and kelp in summer that make towing the kayaks a disaster.
