The metridium sea anemones shown here are dispersing eggs and sperm. The orange anemone on the left is in charge of eggs - the pink veil flowing from it's center is a film of thousands of individual eggs.  The anemone on the right is pumping out a milky white "smoke" of sperm. (ane94)

 

The squid is carrying an egg capsule in its tentacles. The capsule was muscled from her body and up toward the tentacles during a mating frenzy. I'm not sure if it is fertilized while inside or on the outside, but the capsule is carried at a 90 degree angle down to the large egg mass and stuck next to the other ones.
